C-TEC Fire Alarm Systems Installed, Maintained and Upgraded
Looking for a C-TEC fire alarm installer? We install and support C-TEC conventional and addressable fire alarm systems, including CAST systems using XFP and ZFP control panels, with the final design based on the building, fire risk assessment and required cause and effect.
- New C-TEC installations
- CAST addressable systems
- Maintenance and faults
- Existing system reviews
What is a C-TEC CAST fire alarm system?
CAST is C-TEC's own addressable fire detection and alarm technology. It works with compatible C-TEC XFP and ZFP control panels plus addressable detectors, call points, sounders, visual alarm devices and interface modules. C-TEC states that a compatible CAST loop can support up to 255 C-TEC addressable devices, with the final quantity and design determined by the fire alarm specification and system configuration.
New C-TEC system, upgrade, maintenance or takeover.
Start with the building and the fire safety requirement, then select the right C-TEC system around that need.
C-TEC fire alarm installation
Survey, system design, installation, configuration, commissioning and handover for a new commercial fire alarm.
C-TEC CAST systems
Addressable fire detection using compatible XFP or ZFP panels and individually identified CAST field devices.
C-TEC conventional fire alarms
Conventional panels and field devices for applications where a zoned conventional system is appropriate.
Expand or upgrade an existing system
Review existing control equipment, detection, zoning and interfaces before defining suitable upgrade work.
C-TEC fire alarm servicing
Planned inspection, testing, fault investigation and maintenance for supported C-TEC fire alarm systems.
Already have C-TEC installed?
We can assess the existing system before recommending maintenance, repair, expansion or replacement.
Addressable devices connected through C-TEC CAST technology.
C-TEC describes CAST as its UK designed and manufactured distributed intelligence addressable fire detection and alarm system. Compatible XFP and ZFP panels can work with CAST detectors, call points, warning devices and interfaces as one addressable system.
The system is only as good as the design, installation and maintenance behind it.
C-TEC equipment still needs to be selected, configured and tested around the building and the current fire safety requirements.
Define the fire alarm requirement
- Review the fire risk assessment and building use
- Assess existing systems where applicable
- Define zones, loops and detection strategy
- Identify warning and visual alarm needs
- Plan required cause and effect interfaces
Install, program and commission
- C-TEC control panels installed
- Compatible field devices installed
- Addressing and programming completed
- Cause and effect tested
- System commissioning and handover
Extend suitable existing systems
- Review current panel and loop capacity
- Add compatible detection where required
- Update zoning and device text
- Review interfaces after building changes
- Recommission affected functions
Maintenance, faults and system reviews
- Routine fire alarm servicing
- Fault investigation
- Supported device replacement
- Maintenance records and reports
- Advice on repair, expansion or upgrade
Combined detection and alarm functions in one CAST device.
C-TEC's CAST-PRO range combines selected fire detection and alarm functions within one addressable device. Depending on the model, this can include heat, smoke and carbon monoxide fire detection together with a tone or voice sounder and a visual alarm device.

You do not automatically need a replacement.
If a C-TEC fire alarm is already installed, we can review the panel, devices, maintenance records and current faults before recommending the next step. Where the system remains suitable, servicing, repair, reconfiguration or a targeted expansion may make more sense than replacing it.
A clear route from fire alarm requirement to commissioned system.

We provide ongoing servicing, fault support and advice on future changes or upgrades.
C-TEC fire alarm installer questions.
Yes. We install and support C-TEC fire alarm systems, including suitable conventional systems and addressable CAST systems using compatible XFP and ZFP control panels.
CAST stands for C-TEC Addressable System Technology. It is C-TEC's addressable fire detection and alarm platform for compatible XFP and ZFP panels and CAST field devices.
C-TEC states that compatible CAST systems can support up to 255 C-TEC manufactured addressable devices per loop. The actual design still depends on the panel, loop loading, system configuration and fire alarm specification.
XFP provides one and two loop addressable panel options, while ZFP provides larger one to eight loop touchscreen controlled configurations for more complex applications. The correct panel depends on system size, networking and cause and effect requirements.
Yes, where the existing equipment is supported and suitable. We can inspect the system, maintenance history and current faults before recommending servicing, repair, expansion or replacement.
Compatible C-TEC interface modules can be used for selected building functions where the fire alarm design requires them. The required cause and effect should be documented, commissioned and tested as part of the complete system.
Yes. We can review an existing C-TEC installation and advise on system condition, supported equipment, faults, maintenance, upgrades and suitable next steps.
