North West Intruder Alarm Installation
40+ Years Protecting North West Businesses
Intruder Alarms for North West Businesses
A break-in means more than lost stock and damaged property. It means time out of business, insurance claims, staff who feel unsafe and customers you can’t serve. A properly specified intruder alarm deters criminals, detects them early and alerts the right people fast.
Full Circuit Fire & Security installs, monitors and maintains intruder alarms and burglar alarms for businesses and homes across Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria. Since 1981, we have helped North West businesses protect their premises with systems matched to their risk, their insurer and the way they work.
SSAIB Certified Intruder Alarm Installers
We are an SSAIB-accredited security installer. SSAIB is a UKAS-accredited certification body, which means our work, our engineers and our processes are independently inspected.
That matters for two reasons. Most commercial insurers require your alarm to be installed and maintained by a certified company. And if you want police response, your alarm must be installed by an installer certified by an accredited body such as SSAIB.
We design and install intruder alarms to BS EN 50131 and PD 6662, the standards insurers and the police look for. We use proven equipment from trusted brands such as Orisec, with CSL DualCom signalling for monitored systems. At handover, we show you exactly how your system works.
Intruder Alarm Grades Explained
BS EN 50131 sorts intruder alarms into four grades, based on the level of risk and the type of intruder your premises is likely to attract.
- Grade 1: low risk. Suits premises where an intruder is expected to have little knowledge of alarms and limited tools.
- Grade 2: low to medium risk. Suits most homes and many small businesses. Protects against intruders with some knowledge of alarm systems and basic tools.
- Grade 3: medium to high risk. Suits most commercial premises, including shops, offices and warehouses holding valuable stock. Protects against experienced intruders with tools and portable electronic equipment.
- Grade 4: high risk. Suits sites such as banks, jewellers, high-value stores and critical infrastructure. Protects against organised, well-equipped intruders.
Most businesses need Grade 2 or Grade 3. Your insurer may set a minimum grade, so we’ll check your policy and specify a system that meets it.
Monitored Intruder Alarms
An alarm that only sounds a siren relies on someone nearby hearing it and acting. A monitored intruder alarm sends a signal to an alarm receiving centre that’s staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
When your alarm activates, the receiving centre follows your agreed response plan. That might mean calling your keyholders, contacting a key holding company or, for police response systems, passing the alarm to the police.
We use secure dual-path signalling, which sends alarm signals over more than one route. If one path is cut or fails, the signal still gets through. Monitored systems also tell you if the alarm develops a fault or loses power.
Police Response Intruder Alarms
To get a police response, your intruder alarm must meet the National Police Chiefs’ Council requirements. That means:
- Installation and maintenance by an installer certified by an accredited body such as SSAIB
- A system designed to the right standards, with confirmation technology to reduce false alarms
- Monitoring by an approved alarm receiving centre
- A unique reference number issued by the police
- Regular maintenance and at least two trained keyholders
Police response can be withdrawn if a system has too many false alarms, so good design and regular maintenance are essential. We’ll explain everything involved and handle the application for you.
App and Fob Control
Our intruder alarms can be set and unset using a key fob, proximity tag or smartphone app, so there are no codes to remember or share.
With app control, you can check whether your premises is armed, set or unset the alarm remotely, receive instant alerts and see which detector has activated. It’s ideal for business owners who manage several sites or want peace of mind when they’re away.
Intruder Detection for Every Area
We design detection around how your building is used and where an intruder is likely to enter.
- Motion detectors cover rooms, corridors and open spaces
- Dual technology detectors combine two sensing methods to cut false alarms in challenging areas
- Door and window contacts detect when an entry point is opened
- Shock and vibration sensors detect attempts to force doors, windows and shutters
- Beam detectors protect yards, perimeters and large open areas
- Hold-up and panic alarms let staff call for help discreetly
- Internal and external sirens and strobes deter intruders and alert people nearby
We can also add security fog systems such as SmokeCloak, which fill a room with dense, harmless fog within seconds so intruders can’t see what to take.
Complete Security Integration
Your intruder alarm can work together with the rest of your security. When an alarm activates, linked CCTV can record and send footage to your phone. Your access control system can arm the alarm automatically when the last person leaves. And everything can be managed by one local company.
Wireless Intruder Alarms
Wireless burglar alarms install quickly with no visible cabling, so there’s minimal disruption to your business and no damage to finished interiors.
They run on long-life batteries and have backup power, so they keep working during a power cut. They are also discreet, easy to extend and designed to detect any tampering. Wireless systems are a good choice for occupied offices, listed buildings, retail units and premises that can’t close for installation.
Intruder Alarm Servicing & Maintenance
Regular servicing keeps your alarm reliable, cuts false alarms and keeps you compliant with your insurer and, where relevant, police response requirements. Monitored and police response alarms typically need professional maintenance at least once or twice a year, depending on the system.
On each visit, our engineers test and fine-tune every detector, contact, siren, battery and signalling path, update the system log and give you a service report.
We can also take over the maintenance of an alarm installed by another company, and upgrade older systems that still rely on the copper phone network before it is switched off.
